My kids never eat all the candy that they accumulate during Halloween. So they've always participated in the Candy BuyBack Program sponsored by local dentists. The program allows kids to earn money in exchange for their candy that is sent to soldiers. The candy represents a warm memory of life “back home” and children that care enough to donate candy in support of our troops, as well as provides something fun that soldiers can share with other children that they meet.

- Participating dentists "buy" back kids' Halloween candy at a scheduled event
- Dental offices nationwide generally pay the kids $1 per pound for the candy (usually a 5 lb. limit).
- Dentists send the candy to Move America Forward or Operation Shoebox.
- Move America Forward and Operation Shoebox sort all the goodies, pack the boxes and ship those boxes to our troops serving abroad.
