Fall is just around the corner!  Here are our top picks for upcoming family-friendly fall festivals.


Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival, Pine Mountain (Aug. 31-Sept. 2, 2018)

You’ll find plenty of activities for the entire family. Take a tethered balloon ride.  Or even if you don’t take a balloon ride make sure you get your fill of balloon glows and photo opportunities. For families with children the Kid Zone is sure to be a highlight of your visit. The car enthusiast can find their dream car at the classic car show. Beach lovers unite and take a dip in the sparkling waters of Robin Lake. Food, drink, and music mean you don’t really need to leave the resort all weekend! 


Shakerag Arts and Crafts Festival, Peachtree City GA (Sept. 15-16, 2018)

The 40th Annual Shakerag Festival features arts, crafts, and food vendors from all over Georgia and neighboring states. Children's activities and live entertainment help make this a family friendly event.


Japanfest, Atlanta (Sept 15-16, 2018)

JapanFest Atlanta is an annual festival that celebrates the culture and people of Japan, as well as the strong bonds between Americans and Japanese here in Georgia.


Inman Farm Heritage Days, Fayetteville, GA (Sept. 21-23, 2018)

For three days in the fall, we get to remember a simpler time and pay tribute to the people in our little farming community who for generations worked the fields and maintained our way of life. See hundreds of antique tractors and engines and displays of almost-forgotten arts including threshing, pea shelling, sawmilling, cotton ginning, syrup making, quilting, weaving, broom making, printing.


Georgia State Fair, Atlanta Motor Speedway (Sept 28-Oct. 7, 2018)

Exciting Attractions & Shows. Live Music. All Your Favorite Fair Food. Spectacular Carnival Rides & Kiddie Rides. Safe, Clean Family Fun.


Cotton Pickin Fair, Downtown Gay, GA (Oct. 6 & 7, 2018)

Return to 1910 where the Farmhouse, the Cotton Gin, and the Cotton Warehouse form a unique backdrop for a great day of 21st century fun. Amidst skilled artisans and antique specialists, the Fair shares remnants of farm life in days gone by. Come hungry and bring the children to play in the kid's area.

Georgia Apple Festival, Ellijay, GA (Oct. 12-13 & Oct. 19-20, 2019)

There are over 300 vendors with handmade, hand-crafted items, as well as many on-site demonstrations of how selected types of crafts are made. There is a parade and antique car show each year. The antique car show is held at the Civic Center on October 13th. The parade is on October 20th and begins at 10 AM in historic downtown Ellijay.


Stone Mountain Highland Games (Oct. 20-21, 2018)

Come and enjoy the Highland Athletic events, Highland Dancing, Piping and Drumming, Scottish Harping. Participate in the Scottish Country Dancing demonstrations, Kirking of the Tartans, Clan Challenge Athletic events, and the Parade of Tartans.
