Description
The Moreland Cultural Arts Alliance sponsors the festival, which starts with a patriotic bicycle parade. Youngsters are invited to decorate bikes, trikes and other non-motorized vehicles. MCAA will give cash prizes – $20, first place; $10, second place; and $5 third place.
Moreland Animal Hospital will again sponsor a dog walk, which offers prizes of doggie swag. Contestants for the bike parade and dog walk will gather in front of Moreland United Methodist Church at 8:30.
Opening ceremonies for Puckett Station will be held in the Moreland Mill at 9 a.m. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., vendors will be in the mill and outdoors nearby.
BBQ and Brunswick stew will be available to purchase - $9 per plate, $10 per quart of stew or pork and $40 per gallon of stew. A World War I exhibit with “all sorts of gear” will be on display, she said. Mannequins will showcase uniforms from that war. Music will fill the hallway of the mill. A barbershop quartet and Martin Rudy and the Newnan Brass will be performing. A dramatic reading from the Declaration of Independence is planned for noon. “We have strolling performers including a strolling musicians. For kids we have games of yesteryear,” Chancey said.
