So much more than just a week away from home, summer camp can change a child’s life. Grammy Award-winning artist Zac Brown founded Camp Southern Ground with the purpose of getting kids and teens ages 7-16 outside in an inclusive, tech-free environment where kindness and community are the foundation of the programming. From day one, campers make connections; harvest and eat food from an on-site organic garden; learn and develop life skills like bike riding, swimming, cooking, archery, and more.

This year, teens will enjoy some exciting new programming around skill development and self-discovery. From s'mores around the campfire to art & crafts to our amazing 1200-foot zip line and multi-level ropes course, your camper will have the time of their life, build relationships with their peers and counselors, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Business Review

This was our son’s first time away at camp. We had high hopes that it would be a good experience, and it was. Our expectations were absolutely exceeded! CSG was more than prepared to handle our son’s autism. From camp leadership to the inclusion team to the tribe counselors, everyone was wonderful. My son has already asked to go again next year!

I cannot explain the impact this camp had on my son. He had a hard time making friends at school and just connecting with peers in general. When I picked him up, he beamed confidence. Seeing him interact with kids that viewed him as an equal was priceless. He also learned how to ride a bike! We have tried for years! All of the counselors knew the kids by name... just an absolute amazing experience.

My kids call Camp Southern Ground their happy place. Both my son and daughter have made friendships that have lasted long beyond summer camp, and both come home with more patience, empathy and understanding not just for each other but in general. I am so appreciative that Camp Southern Ground not only preaches kindness and connection, they practice it!

Fantastic! It’s such an amazing camp with an incredible mission. We’ll definitely be back next year and loved the special attention to ADHD and spectrum kids. Alex is the type of kid who loves new experiences, and he loved trying so many activities, but he sometimes has difficulties with social interactions and keeping friends. Your counselors ensured he not only made friends, but also had great interactions the whole week and kept friendships after camp ended. We also loved that Alex was the last kid to leave after the family lunch because he was saying goodbye and playing with so many counselors and staff. Thank you!! This camp is a magical place for kids with special social needs.
