The musical sensation, Jersey Boys opens at Legacy Theatre! Based on the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, this musical opens January 24th and runs through February 23rd.
Winner of four Tony Awards including Best Musical, Jersey Boys ran on Broadway from 2005 to 2017. Since its debut, it has toured North America, UK, and Ireland, and has been performed all over the world to critical acclaim. Jersey Boys tells the true story of the iconic band with music of The Four Seasons and a book written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. The musical was conceived using material from the surviving members of the musical quartet and features the hit songs “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Sherry”, December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)”, “My Eyes Adored You”, “Stay”, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”, “Walk Like a Man”, “Who Loves You” and many more.
Jersey Boys is a rags to riches story told from the perspective of all four band members. Beginning in the 1950s in New Jersey, the show follows their success, their break-up, and ultimately culminates with a 1990 reunion at their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
This production is directed by Legacy’s Artistic Director, Mark Smith. “We have been waiting for years to produce this show” says Smith. “And I think our audiences have been waiting for it too. Everyone knows and loves the music of The Four Seasons, but the story behind the music is just as incredible.” Starring as the iconic Four Seasons are actors Brandon Hembree as Nick Massi, Haden Rider as Frankie Valli, Colton Sims as Bob Gaudio, and Grayson Yockey as Tommy DeVito.
“This is one of our biggest shows ever” says Executive Producer Bethany Smith. “It’s a show that everyone loves and wants to see over and over. Plus, we are excited that we’ve secured the rights to the PG “cleaned up” version of the script. This version is exactly the same except way less swear words.” In addition to the four band members, Jersey Boys features an incredibly talented cast of performers including Meredith Bennett, Mac Clark, Avery Ernsberger, Arielle Geller, Kevin Hebblethwaite, Wesley Hodges, Christie Lamb, Bert Lyons, Bailey Buchanan Matheson, McCade Matheson, and Daniel Miskin.
