Join us for a socially distant fireworks celebration on July 4th. The parade has been cancelled for this year but the fireworks show will proceed shortly after 9pm at Volunteer Park. We are asking people to please maintain appropriate social distance and clean your area afterwards. July 4 at 9 pm.

Walk, run or ride a distance of 1-mile, 5K or 10K to benefit Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit that provides children with chronic and terminal illnesses an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World. July 4. Register with a $15 tax-deductible donation that benefits Bert’s Big Adventure (and only $5 for each additional family member or quarantine roommate). For $25, you can also order a soft, commemorative race t-shirt.

The nation’s 244th birthday celebration will feature new performances from iconic locations across the country, including Washington, D.C, New York, Nashville, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, as well as highlights from the concert’s forty-year history and the stirring patriotic favorites viewers enjoy on the Fourth of July. John Stamos and Vanessa Williams host. Saturday, July 4, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m.

Virtual Full Buck Moon Live Stream of a penumbral lunar eclipse
The Full Buck Moon (a traditional name for July’s Full Moon) will pass through the outermost portion of the Earth’s shadow, a subtle event called a penumbral lunar eclipse. Join Lowell Observatory educators at the Giovale Open Deck Observatory at 11 pm EST on Saturday, July 4, 2020, for a live stream of this penumbral lunar eclipse. Watch the Live Stream on YouTube.
East Point Census Caravan Parade from City Hall at 2757 East Point St. to John D. Milner Park at 3000 Randall St.
Stations will be set up for people to complete census forms. Refreshments and giveaway items will be available at the park and a DJ will spin music. Cars will start to gather at 11 a.m. Participants are encouraged to decorate their vehicles, wear masks and bring self-made signs that promote the census.

The celebration begins early and lasts well into the night at our annual July 4th Star Spangled Beach Party at Robin Lake Beach. Enjoy outdoor adventures, beach access, delicious food and drink specials, fireworks displays, or just take it all in and relax on the shore of Robin Lake. End each evening (July 3-5, 2020) with a bang and experience our spectacular Fireworks Extravaganza and make it a weekend to remember.
