After a 65 to 230 million year hiatus, Dinosaur Explore, will open at Stone Mountain Park on March 30. But hurry! They won't stay long!
This past week we had the opportunity to get a sneak peak at the 20 dinosaurs inhabiting Dinosaur Explore, as well as visit with dino rangers and baby dinosaurs.
Check out our video review:
The first dino to greet you as you pull into the parking lot is the towering 20 feet tall by 33 feet long Bronchiosuarus that appeared to be eating leaves off the nearby trees.
The exhibit is located on beautiful wooded trails and includes scientifically accurate favorites like a three-horned Triceratops and a ferocious Allosaurus. And no prehistoric collection would be complete without the king of the dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus rex and a gentle, plant-eating Brachiosaurus that towers overhead nearly two stories tall.
We felt like we were walking through a prehistoric zoo as the dinosaurs moved and roared much like their ancient ancestors would have and each dino had informational facts displayed in front of their accompanying dino so kids could learn even more about their favorites.
There's plenty for the kids to do. They can play in the Dinotorium, talk to dino rangers, learn about different dinosaur habitats, visit the Dino Nursery, feed baby dinosaurs and play games.
Dinosaur Explore is schedule to remain at Stone Mountain Park throughout the 2017 season. Admission to Dinosaur Explore is FREE with any paid daily Adventure Pass or Mountain Membership. For ticketing and other details call 800-401-2407 or visit stonemountainpark.com.
