Double Bar H Stables, LLC is so much more than just stables. This working farm warmly opens its barn doors to families in our local communities with the desire to share the joy of horses. The owner, Terri Hall Hofmann, says “horses are good medicine. After thirty years of working in the legal arena as a paralegal and law office administrator, it is now my honor to be able to share with others, especially the children, the magic of horses. Here at Double Bar H Stables, it’s not about pushing or rushing children (or their parents) to a show ring, it’s about the relationship, understanding, and bond between human and horse. It all starts there.”
Double Bar H Stables, LLC is located at 844 Payton Road, Newnan, Georgia 30263 (404-295-3374) and adjoins Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Western Coweta County. The horse farm is located down a winding country road and nestled in a serene woodland setting across the street from the Chattahoochee River. The facility has three barns, a spacious riding arena complete with jumps and barrels, wooded riding trails, and a welcoming shaded gathering area for their clients and guests to enjoy, complete with a firepit, chimnea, picnic tables with umbrella, hammocks, porch swings, Adirondack style furniture and playground for the children. Double Bar H Stables, LLC is a professional, licensed and insured, family friendly equestrian facility providing a multitude of activities for all ages of the community. Double Bar H Stables, LLC offers boarding, training, on-site equestrian leases, overnight boarding, lessons, summer camps, fall weekend camps, birthday pony parties, trail rides, homeschool horsemanship programs, photo shoots, equestrian clinics, and much more.
Recently awarded Macaroni Kid’s 2016 Best Horseback Riding Lesson Facility, Double Bar H Stables has one of Coweta County’s largest and most diverse riding lesson programs around specializing in western riding, but also offering English, hunter/jumper, trail, and bareback riding lessons. Private, one hour, lessons are offered seven days a week and are $55 each or you may purchase a more economical lesson package - - - four lessons for $175 or ten lessons for $375.

The working horse farm also conducts a tremendous number of birthday pony parties each year for the children of Coweta and surrounding counties. Birthday pony parties at the farm include horseback riding for the children, with our instructors answering all questions our guests may have concerning daily operations of the farm or about the care of horses. Parties may be conducted inside the main barn (with heat in the winter) or at the landscaped gathering area overlooking the barns and pastures. For all birthday pony parties, the farm provides complimentary firewood to be used at their firepit for roasting hotdogs or marshmallows. The basic birthday pony farm package is $350. A variety of party options to include bounce house, painting on canvas, finger painting on horses, unicorn photo shoots, etc. are available at additional costs.
Every Summer during the month of June, and most Spring Break weeks for Coweta, Fayette, Heard, and Carroll Counties, Double Bar H Stables hosts their annual Equestrian Camps which run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Children may attend camp the entire week for $375 or on a daily basis at the rate of $75 per day. In addition to daily horseback riding lessons, camp activities may include trail riding, swimming, classroom instruction on horse related subjects (with take home notebook full of materials), art projects, visits from the veterinarian and/or farrier, special exhibitions such as a Birds of Prey presentation and demonstration, a Native American presentation complete with 24’ teepee lodge and a variety of authentic regalia on display, games, and lots of memory making.
Trail rides are offered to the public by appointment only and include instruction on handling, safety, grooming, equipment, and introductory riding lesson in the arena before hitting the trail. Reservations and security deposit required.
For those interested in horse ownership, but perhaps not ready to make the huge long-term financial obligation same entails, this working farm also offers horses for on-site monthly lease at the rate of $350 to $500 per month. Under an on-site equestrian lease, qualified lessees may select a horse suited to their riding needs and abilities and pay a monthly lease fee to come out and spend time at the barn, ride in the arena and on the trails, and mingle with other horse people.
