When I think of Footloose, I think of the 1984 Movie that included lots of profanity, adult themes, and was rated PG-13.
But not all Footloose shows are created equal! This past weekend we had the opportunity to see Footloose The Musical at Legacy Theatre in Tyrone. We found out first hand that this show is very different from the movie.
If you aren’t familiar with the plot, Footloose is the story of Ren McCormack, a big-city teen who finds himself out of place in a rural town where dancing has been outlawed. As he tries to carve out a place for himself, he sets off a revolution in the town as the younger generation rebels against the strict rules of the town’s authorities. Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, and guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind. And the musical provides plenty of humor to convey the message.
You'll hear all the top songs from the film, plus new material written especially for the stage, that is sure to set toes tapping and fingers snapping.
