Third Annual Competition Offers Local Youth Chance to Make It Big While Benefiting Charity

After two years of spotlighting local singing sensations, Variety of Georgia takes the stage once again to find the next talented teen. The Stars of Tomorrow competition offers hopeful performers ages 13-19 the experience, exposure and opportunity to pursue their dreams as the next emerging star, all in the name of charity! 

 

Stars of Tomorrow benefits Variety of Georgia initiatives across the state and aims to shine a light on Georgia’s promising young talent. Event co-chairs Carolyn Lee Wills and Former Chief Barker Mike Dangerfield help further the organization’s commitment to enhancing the lives of area youth. Through this competition, teens not only showcase their stunning vocals for industry leaders, but also develop skills they will use for years to come.

Best of all, Stars of Tomorrow benefits various charity programs, so it’s a win-win for everyone!”

 

The first stage of the 2013 Stars of Tomorrow competition launched on Monday, September 23 with a state-wide talent call. Now through Saturday, November 23, eligible teens across the state of Georgia can submit contest entries, including videos of their best performances electronically HEREAfter event coordinators approve each submission, they will upload the entries beginning October 25 HERE Contestants can also share their videos among friends and family to leverage their networks and gain exposure. After selecting the top 10 contenders based on their performance, judges will notify the finalists on December 15.

 

On February 16, 2014Stars of Tomorrow will host its final competition at The Buckhead Theatre, where Variety of Georgia raises the curtain to the top vocalists. Friends, family, show-business veterans and community influencers will fill the crowd for an anticipated evening of music, philanthropy and fun!

 

In addition to the title of 2014 Stars of Tomorrow Champion, the winner of the singing competition will receive a $2,500 cash prize and the opportunity to perform on the Fox Theatre stage! The talented teen will also be rewarded with a custom-made demo CD with two tracks, and tickets to an upcoming performance at The Fox Theatre and a Frabel trophy. Georgia residents between the ages of 13 and 19 are eligible to enter the Stars of Tomorrow competition. Contestants must be amateur, unsigned, individual talent and have no professional experience. Contestants over 18, or legal guardians of contestants under 18, must sign a waiver before the contestant is allowed to compete. Video submissions will be reviewed to ensure they showcase singing talent without any harsh language.
