150th Atlanta Campaign Civil War Reenactment

On September 19th 2014 the Atlanta Campaign Inc. will begin a weekend of activities and battle reenactments to commemorate the 150th Anniversary Battle for Atlanta at Nash Farm Battlefield in Hampton, GA.  This will be the 13th and final year the Atlanta Campaign Inc. will coordinate the reenactment.

Beginning on Friday the 19th local school groups will attend a special program.  Later in the evening the reenactment schedule will begin with the battle of Utoy Creek.  On Saturday the 20th The Kilpatrick Cavalry breakthrough will begin at 10 am, and later that day reenactors will recreate the action at Cheatham Hill during the Kennesaw Mountain battle.  Finally, on the 21st, reenactors will recreate the action around the Troup-Hurt House during the Battle of Atlanta.

All weekend authors will be on site.  David Evans, author of Sherman’s Horseman, and Ed Arnoff, author of 6 books on the Civil War.  A period band will be playing throughout the weekend.  Also, LionHeart FilmWorks will produce a video of the weekend and offer it for sale before, during and after the reenactment.  Various modern food vendors also will be on site.

Tickets for the reenactment can be purchased on site or by contacting the Atlanta Campaign.  Adult tickets are $10.00 per day and children (age 6 to 17) are $5.00 per day.  There is a $5 parking fee.  A three day pass can be purchased for $25.00 for adults and $12.00 for children.
