Libraries and Weekly Story Times

Central Library, 85 Literary Lane, Newnan, 770-683-2052

  • Wee Music, Movement, & Rhyming (ages 6-23 months) Wednesdays at 9:30 am. Children will enjoy finger plays, rhymes, music and movement in an interactive unstructured story time. 
  • Reading, Music & Movement (2 year olds) Wednesdays at 10:15 am. Emphasizes stories, rhymes, music and interactive activities.
  • Preschool Story Time (3-5 year olds) Wednesdays at 11:00 am. This is an opportunity for children to be introduced to literacy though books, storytelling, puppets, flannel board stories, crafts, and LOTS of interaction with the storyteller and other kids!


Powell Library, 25 Hospital Road, Newnan, 770-253-3625 Registration is required for following activities.

  • Baby Time (ages 0-24 months) Tuesdays at 10:00 am. Designed for one-on-one sharing of books, songs, and rhymes between babies and caregivers.
  • Lap Time (2 year olds) Mondays at 10 am and 11:15 am and on Wednessdays at 10:30 am. Stories, activities, songs, and social time. Registration Required.
  • Preschool Story Time (ages 3-5 years, siblings allowed) Mondays at 10:00 am. Listen to stories, play games, sing songs, and enjoy a craft appropriate for preschoolers. 
  • Caring Paws (1st grade and up) - one Saturday per month. Registration Required.

  • Story Time (ages 2-5) Wednesdays at 10:30 am. Children and their parents or caregivers, will explore stories and activities to encourage children along a lifelong path of reading and learning.  Registration Required.

  • Music & Movement (ages 2-6) Mondays at 9:30 am. Music, movement, songs, dance, rhythm instruments!
  • Craft and Play (ages 2-6) Mondays at 11:30 am. A simple craft, usually designed to practice developmental benchmarks, and some free play.
  • Mother Goose on the Loose (ages 0-18 months) Tuesdays at 9:15 am. An award-winning, literacy based program used in libraries across the country. Registration Required.
  • Baby Time (ages 0-18 months) Wednesdays at 10 am. Fifteen minutes of play, songs, skit, story, action rhymes.
  • Toddler Storytime (ages 2-3) Tuesdays at 10 am & 11 am. Stories, action rhymes, songs, fingerplays, and a coloring sheet.  Registration Required.
  • Toddlers Play/Parents Talk Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Time between storytimes when socialization and free play occurs. 
  • Preschool Storytime (ages 3-6) Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Stories, action rhymes, flannelboards, songs, fingerplays, and a coloring sheet.

  • Preschool Story Time (3-5 years) meets during the school year on Tuesdays at 10:15 am. 
  • Baby Time meets Thursdays: 10:30 am - Walking Ones (Ages 12-24 mos); 11:30 am - Infants (Birth-12 mos)
  • SOUNS, ages 0-24 months meets one day per month. Check MacKid calendar for next date.
  • Caring Paws (ages 4-8) comes two times each month. Check the MacKid Calendar for next opportunity.
