The Artist Within is an entertainment venue for everyone ages 6 to 106. Located in Old Town Sharpsburg (about 5 minutes from Sam’s Club in Peachtree City), acrylic painting sessions are offered for entertainment. Individual sessions, family or group activities, and parties are all hosted in the unique and relaxing classrooms. Engage your creativity while the instructors teach you how to go from a blank canvas to your final painting, gradually building your own Artist Within masterpiece. It’s very interactive, and your painting goes home with you that day. You’ll proudly show it to your family and friends.
The Artist Within opened in April of 2011 in a banquet room of a restaurant in Peachtree City and traveling to private parties. They quickly needed their own location and moved to Sharpsburg in June of last year. The owners, Julie Stone and Chelsea Blankinship (a mother/daughter-in-law team) saw that there was a need to bring their unique painting entertainment sessions to our area to give families another form of entertainment locally. “In this area, you could go to the movies, bowling, or shopping. Going out to eat had become another activity for a lot of families, and that’s not even an activity-it’s a meal! We really needed something else to do here. We thought, why not open up another option? So we did.” Says Julie Stone. “We found the house in Sharpsburg and created this relaxing and fun atmosphere, where people can come and hang out with their friends, by themselves, or bring their kids. It’s really a neat place”.
