ChildrenConnect: Newnan Children’s Museum announces it’s first series of free Super Saturday programs beginning this week in the historic Male Academy building, 30 Temple Ave. downtown Newnan.

“This Saturday’s program is title Sound-tastic Discovery.  It lets kids explore sound waves, vibration and pitch with fun, hands-on science activities that spark their imaginations to build their own sound machines,” according to Ellen Jenkins, the museum’s executive director.

The October 8th and 11th programs involve a treasure hunt where youngsters learn how to use a compass and develop map skills as they explore the park area around the museum building. It’s being   offered on two Saturdays to allow as many children as possible to participate.

The mission of the museum is to bring free, exciting educational enrichment to all children of our area.  To make this possible local individuals and businesses have agreed to sponsor these initial programs. Activities begin at 10 am Saturday and are designed for children ages 5 to 11. Space is limited so registration is required.  To join the fun call (470)414-2455.
